Big bore carb will allow the motor to breath when it needs it at high rpm Buuuuutt at low and mid rpm. it’s to much air the motor will ussaly over come it till pulls to mid rpm. At evthing from low to mid large carb will be a bit studdery and choppy with best tunes The new carbs performance $200 pwk have crazy geometry on the mouth of the carburetor allowing the low and mid be smooth Starting is always a bitch with larg carbs Most people want performance but no head ach with starting The new carbs I’m doing I dealte the choke for more air flow and still starts 1-2 pulls The modifed carbs run even better on methonal because methonal has a wide range with the air to fuel ratio. We’re running nearly almost 2 times amount of methonal compared to gas If u ever tuned carbs Like tuning a 2 stroke vs gas 2 stroke half oil so 2 times as fine Why do u think every chain saw has a high low adjustment The original Briggs raptor on the modifed would run a modifed chainsaw carb No screamed ur running a chain saw carb on ur motor The whole was a bit high but not like today Blueprinting is taking taking somthing apart modifying it and making it work perfectly with wat it’s going on.
