This Mid-century Vintage record storage benchis in amazing condition for it's age. Leather, cushioned bench seat doesn't have cuts, tears cracks, stains, holes, wonderful condition. Has all Original parts. The wheels still roll just fine. All cedar, w/ slapstick separate storage. The slats easily removable to create a larger storage area. When seat is pushed down it will lock shut. Push the metal button to open hatch. Still has the Original Lane catalog attached on the inside of the chest . Also on the bottom ofthr storage bench you can find the serial # that was branded into the wood, ams reading the serial number backwards will give you the date of when it was built. So since this serial # is (contact info removed). The date would be 06/15/1969. So after 52 years of its life span this Lane storage bench is almost flawless. It only had one minor scratch on the cedar. But I'm sure it will come out if you use a walnut to buff it out. (Tjat really does work. Not the shell, but the oily nut inside.) And finally when you lift the seawall the way up you will see the Lane emblem branded on the bottom of the seat. Lane is a very decorated, highly respected brand. This chest was built with extrodanary craftsmanship. Avery fine piece on mid-century vintage furniture. $400 O.B.O.
