Description
1974 C&C 35-1/2. Everything works! This sailboat has been conscientiously maintained over the years and I am only the 3rd owner! I can provide a binder of maintenance records going back to the days she came out of the factory in Canada. Great entry point for those looking to learn to sail or people looking to establish a splash pad walking distance from Venice beach! She’s currently in Wayfarer Marina in Marina del Rey, Los Angeles, in the two slips in from the end-tie. It’s a private, quiet and relaxing end of the marina. The slip is also transferrable, meaning you get to keep the great spot near the end! Marina is great and has bathrooms and free laundry and utilities! All for ~ $675 per month. Additionally, the boat is equipped with everything you need as well as tons of spare parts. Sails • 5 foresails (150%, 130%, 100%, 86% and a Stay sail), and one triple reef-able main sail made by North, with a dutchman system to help lower it neatly. Some of the sails are older but the most important ones (the main, 150% and 130% which are most frequently used) are in great shape! I also hand sewed a custom job sock that allows you to keep any one of the foresails protected from the sun while it's on the rolling furler! Engine (will post photos soon!)• Newly-refurbished 30 hp Atomic 4 gas engine, refurbished in 2021 by Moyer Marine with only about 300 total hours run time since installation!! Motor has been fresh water flushed at the end of every trip using a three way valve connected to the dock hose! New prop shaft and cutlas bearing with a refurbished Martec two blade folding fin prop also done in re-done in 2021. 20 Gal gas tank. This motor is practically new and barely sips fuel (can go to Catalina on less than half a tank with no wind!) Standing Rigging • Fully serviceable and in good condition. Running Rigging • Fully functional and in good condition Configured for single handing with all lines leading back to the cockpit. Lots of extra halyards for all your sailing needs. Winches • Lots of redundancy in the cockpit for jib sheets or everything you would need to run a spinnaker (except the spinnaker pole, and spinaker). Nice Harken self tailing winches as well! Nav and radio Electronics • New wifi/Bluetooth em-trak B900 series Class B AIS transceiver and MMSI radio with remote handset for the helm • Ray Marine Autopilot • Garmin GPS map chart plotter linked to the autopilot. Electrical system • Starter battery and 200AH AGM Ship house battery. Charged by 175W flexible solar panel. 1200 W Power inverter and Solar charge controller. Also recharges off engine alternator! Most interior bulbs replaced with LED globes. Fiberglass hull. This was built when they didn’t quite understand how strong fiberglass is, so it’s thicker and stronger than boats built in the 1980s. Bottom paint is still in good condition and I can even have my diver take a video if you’d like or show you the last dive ticket that indicates good paint quality! Anchors • 2 Anchors each with combination chain and rope rode. Interior • Original teak interior • Galley with refrigerator and ice box, electric hotplate and kettle. Fresh water sink with hand pump. The head works perfectly and has a 10 Gal holding tank (but I never use the tank since the marina bathrooms are so close! So the holding tank is kept clean) Another water hand pump and sink in the bathroom. Original owner upgraded to a large freshwater holding tank estimated at approximately 80 gal! Great for trips to Catalina! • Sleeps six total but 4-5 most comfortably! V-berth up front (2), quarter berth in the stern (1), port side salon(1), and the salon table folds into a bed (2). New memory foam in the V-berth and aft berth as well as all bedding. Maintenance • Haul-out in 2020 • Recent Survey in 2024! The whole boat is vintage but clean and well-maintained • I do all of my own maintenance since I sail frequently to Catalina. I have all of the engine manuals and am happy to show you the ropes. It’s a really easy system to maintain. Also, have the historical maintenance records back to the purchase since the past two owners were also meticulous. I am selling because I am moving to a new location where the harbor bridge is too low to fit sailing vessels. Pretty bummed since I’ve taken great care of this boat and I love hanging out on it, going for day sails, and taking it on adventures to Catalina. It’s dialed for an upcoming summer of fun! Please reach out to come take a look or if you have any questions.
