Vintage Decorative Hinged Cookie Tin Box - E. Otto Schmidt - Nurnberg Germany

Description

This vintage decorative hinged cookie tin box is a true piece of art. Made by E. Otto Schmidt in Nurnberg, Germany in 1993, it features a beautiful combination of colors and intricate designs. The tin is perfect for storing cookies, trinkets, or anything else you desire. The brand E. Otto Schmidt is known for creating high-quality tins, and this one is no exception. The biscuit tin is in great shape and has not been modified in any way. It would make a great addition to any collection or a lovely gift for someone special. The tin features decorative art depicting figures from Nuremberg, Germany circa 1550. There is an interesting text on the underside of the lid in German discussing the artwork, and a biography of one of the main people from Nuremberg at that time. Below is a translated excerpt: "Often these are historical traditional costumes from Nürnberg, which can still be seen occasionally in Nuremberg today in these and style-related forms, e.g.  V. at open-air performances of poetry by Hano Jacho, also known as Meistersinger.  Historical costumes always provide an attractive scene.  In contrast to fast-moving fashions of modern times, they represent a tradition-bound disguise. Trimmed with fur, they were worn by the famous burghers of the Imperial City, as the copper engraving on the right shows. "
