Description
This part came from my great-grandfather who was a farmer in Pennsylvania from about 1841 through 1890. Then my grandfather had it and he farmed from then until 1959. It's been on the farm ever since. I believe this is a 24 gallon pot they had several but only one spider to hold the pot the largest was 30 gallons and they made the spider to fit that pot. For the smaller pots like this one they would set horseshoes and to hold them up when they use them cuz nobody had the money to buy a spider for each pot. It's very heavy. You'll have to come to me in Margate if you want it. We used to put dry ice in this and set it out on Halloween as a witches kettle
