Clarity is not a little gift; Stunning Heavy Ribbed Vintage Glass Apothecary Jar: I’ve always had a fascination with old glass jars. I really don’t know why. Maybe it’s the way light filters through them and displaces and disperses all this radiant light in all directions. This heavy glass apothecary jar is probably from the 1950s. It doesn’t have a maker’s mark anywhere to be found but it is heavy and probably held candies. It is ribbed but your view of what’s inside is not completely obscured by the decorative ribbing. As mentioned, it is on the heavier and thicker side of things which denotes a better quality of glass. It’s a perfect storage jar. When I found it, it was “doing time” as a sewing jar. With the lid on, it’s approximately 9” H with a 5.5” in Diameter opening at the top. The price is $39.
