Description
Herewith I would like to offer for sale a legendary vintage acoustic guitar, a Black Label FG-180-1 from Yamaha from 1974 with a beautifully solid Sitka spruce top and a three-piece maple/mahogany back. THIS IS NOT THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE. THIS IS THE REAL DEAL ! It is the Yamaha acoustic guitar FG-180-1, this hard to find Black Label was produced for a limited time between 1974 and 1977. The body consists of a solid Sitka spruce top paired with mahogany sides and a beautiful and great resonating 3-piece mahogany back. The mahogany neck has a rosewood fingerboard. Other special features are the bridge and headstock veneer in rosewood and the sealed vintage Yamaha chrome tuners. In terms of sound, it is distinguished above all by the solid spruce top, which is now well-rehearsed and, together with the mahogany ribs and back, produces an insanely warm, voluminous sound. Beside very assertive, warm humming bass tones, the trebles assert themselves well with plenty of overtones and balanced mids round off the sound - together with the Jumbo Dreadnought construction a very loud, powerful sound is created, which is ideal for picking, strumming and accompaniment in folk style. Great acoustic playing that brings out the full voice of the guitar. in all, a solidly constructed all-round guitar that is suitable for the vintage guitar connoisseur, folk enthusiast as well as for beginners looking for that extra tone. The guitar is beautifully crafted and pleasantly playable - the latter especially because of the 44mm wide nut, the nice thick, grippy neck and the great 3mm string action (XIIth fret low E string) In addition, the instrument also looks very attractive with its three-part back with special maple inlay, the shiny mother-of-pearl dot inlays in the fingerboard, the headstock veneered with rosewood and decorated with a large Yamaha logo. Technical specifications: - Year of manufacture: 1974 - Design: Jumbo Dreadnought - Top: Solid Sitka Spruce - Bottom/sides: Three-piece maple/mahogany back - Neck: Mahogany - Fingerboard: East Indian rosewood - Binding: Cream-White - Bridge & headstock veneer: Rosewood - Nut width: 44mm - String action: 3mm (XII. fret low E string) Meanwhile, these early Yamaha acoustic guitars are very rare and extremely popular because of their incredible sound and beautiful finish: This Yamaha is in excellent condition despite its age. The surface is nicely aged and the instrument is very well maintained. This instrument has been lovingly played and is therefore in a really excellent condition and shows only very few, hardly visible traces of normal use (a few scratches, etc. - see pictures). But the traces are only visible on closer inspection and everything works fine. The tuning pegs are stable, the body is free of cracks, the neck is straight and the frets are good. All in all a beautiful and wonderful sounding rarity with history at a great price. $450.00 INCLUDES RECENTLY BOUGHT HARD CASE AND DIGITAL TUNER !
