This hand-crafted hand painted box with a hinged lid. Inside is lined with black suede perfect for storing your favorite jewelry, and boasts beautiful green, gold and maroon detailing. Pieces like this are often attributed to artisans in India, known for their detailed bone inlay and hand-painting techniques. This item was likely made in the early 1980’s. The item is crafted from wood with hand-painted tessellated shells or bone overlays. Features a fruit wood base with tessellated shell or bone tiles, intricately hand-painted with beige, gold leaf, and brass accents, often featuring floral motifs and a lined interior.
