Description

Made in Japan in the 1930s-1940s, the small Art Déco ceramic ashtrays feature clown shaped dishes. Both clowns are holding a string instruments. One has an orange diamond on his outfit and the other, a blue spade. These individual ashtrays were sold as a set of four and would be placed on a table for a bridge or card playing party. Of course, now they can be used for nuts and candies or as small jewelry holders. The two measure 2 3/4’’ and are 2’’ ( wide. They are in great condition, with a glossy finish and vibrant colors. They have no chips. Both girls are impressed “Japan” and has a black “Made in Japan” stamp on each one. Also the dog has Japan printed in RED on the back.
