Paul Immel was a watercolor/commercial artist born in 1896 and deceased in 1964. Born in Helena, MT, Immel studied at the Ball School of Art in Minneapolis and in 1924 moved to Los Angeles where he further studied at Otis Art Institute for six years. He then moved to Seattle, WA where he was employed by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and taught art at local high schools. Immel was a member of the Puget Sound Group of NW Painters; NW WC Society. His works have been exhibited at the Frye Museum in Seattle and numerous galleries and private collections. He is best known for his watercolors of flowers. In this particular 1950s piece, Immel depicts a bouquet of red to pink flowers in an aqua colored vase. This painting is framed with glass and measures 22 1/2"x22 1/2." Similar pieces sell in the $200-$400 price range.
