Description

condition: excellent cryptocurrency ok make / manufacturer: Pearl model name / number: 323-2030 Gorgeous Pearl Grandfather Clock with a very exciting and unique face featuring intricate Blowing Wind ornaments and an Azimuthal Map Projection of the Earth crossed by the legend "Tempus Fugit" The phrase is used in both its Latin and English forms as a proverb that "time's a-wasting". Tempus fugit, however, is typically employed as an admonition against sloth and procrastination. (cf. carpe diem, memento mori) The watchmaker, Pearl Eenterprises Inc., began operation 7/15/1975 and ended about 5/3/1988. It only operated for 8 years adding to the rarity of this piece. The case was hand-built here in America, specifically in Pearl's workshop on 3790 Knight Arnold Road, Memphis. Tenn. 38118. Pearl watchmakers installed and used good quality imported German movements such as Hermle, which this piece features and which are rated by NAWCC as being of good quality. A typical "grandfather" type similar to this can reach at present $2,000 to $3,000 in good repair depending on the number of complications and rarity. I couldn't find any information on this specific model/serial number, but similar clocks go from $200 for badly molded/damaged pieces to $500~$700 for similar models in good repair. I've priced it at $350 which I believe is an amazingly good price compared to similar clocks available since this piece is in perfect, PRISTINE condition, and it was an inheritance so I didn't pay anything for it and I'd like to sell it right away. You could even research it a bit more and re-sell it at a higher price if you have the patience for it. It includes 3 weights and the pendulum, plus all original paperwork and an original instruction manual from the watchmaker. As you can see in the pictures, the model and serial number are marked in the back along with the watchmaker's signature. Again, all parts are in pristine condition as this clock was in my grandmother's house since it was purchased and it was never used, touched or moved and there were no children or pets in the house that could have damaged it. A true rare find! EDIT: Was $350, now only $200 because I urgently need to pay rent by Friday!!
