Description
Rather than develop his career within a single design discipline – be it industrial, furniture, interior, lighting or architectural design – Michele De Lucchi chose to move freely among them all, creating door pulls for Valli Colombo, laptops for Olivetti, and tape dispensers for Pelikan while designing banks in Germany and apartment buildings in Japan. His Tolomeo Lamp (1987), designed in collaboration with Artemide’s R&D department head Giancarlo Fassina, was honored with the Compasso d’Oro Award in 1989, earning worldwide recognition for its perfect marriage of design and engineering. Since then, the Tolomeo Collection has grown to include an assortment of sizes and styles, each one beginning with a heavy base and ending with a fully adjustable pivoting head. In between, the multi-armed body is also fully adjustable, with steel tension cables providing infinite positions in which the lamp can be held. Bulb (not included): incandescent 100W/E26/A19 for Standard and Mini sizes; incandescent 60W/E12/A19 for the Micro size. The Standard size is also available with an LED array (included): 10.7W/3000K/80CRI. UL Listed. Made in Hungary. Some imperfections on aluminum hood. No stand can be placed via clamp or screw on accessories sold separately from lighting stores.
