2000 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Clean Clear title, has sensor issues lights on dashboard stay lit. Sometimes pressing on the gas pedal will make it accelerate high and act like it has no power make it traffic lights but putting in park and back in Drive almost resets it. I'm sure in a mechanic's hands it's a super easy fix but I'm unclear on which sensor which Google search shows most of the sensors are up near the hood and the headlights I bought a multi meter tester arriving today. Just to see if I can find a easy solution to that problem which I'm sure it is? 250,000 miles just needs a little love though it's in the right hands.
