A handsome late-19th-century wall mirror featuring a substantial figured/flamed mahogany veneer frame with deep ogee molding and warm reddish-brown finish. The frame appears to predate the mirror plate itself; the glass is identified as Semon Bache & Co. “Evalast” mirror glass dating to 1946, indicating the original glass was likely replaced during the first half of the 20th century. The combination of an antique frame, pronounced mahogany figuring, and documented period replacement glass gives the piece considerable decorative and historical character.
