Description
Original mid-century California "Desert School" oil on board painting by listed California artist Adelbert (Peter) Raymond Drew (1884–1967). The composition features an iconic Southwestern desert scene highlighting a vibrant blooming ocotillo plant in the foreground, a winding dirt path, and a desert mesa/butte in the background bathed in soft pastel light. This painting recently underwent professional cleaning and conservation. - Discolored, oxidized natural resin varnish was professionally removed, restoring the sky's original light pastel blues, lavenders, and vibrant red foliage accents. - Mold/mildew from storage has been fully neutralized. - The back of the board has been clean-fitted with a fresh, archival-grade dust cover and hanging wire. It is 100% "wall-ready." SIGNATURE NOTE: The painting is signed by the artist in the lower corner ("A. R. DREW"). As shown in the macro close-up photos, the signature is light/faint due to natural surface wear over time, but the impression and residual paint strokes remain visible upon close inspection. The brushwork, palette, board substrate, and artistic style are characteristic of Drew's mid-century desert vistas. DIMENSIONS: - Artwork / Frame Size: Approx. 17" x 13"
