I bought 2 Defenders (air filters) and a Majestic (vacuum) when a salesperson was at our home a couple of years ago. I did my research prior to his visit and during. I am a mechanical engineer and the design behind the vacuum is perfect as can be. The air filters are a bonus, they maintain a freshness throughout our house and my children benefit from its constant use in our home. As much as I would like them to play outdoors, indoors is where unfortunately we all spend most of our time. My daughter has sever allergies and my son has asthma. He is no longer using his inhaler and I do credit most of this to these filters. I wasn't in the market to buy, however I am very glad I did. They reminded me why direct sales is beneficial. They come in home, demonstrated and left products that better my family's quality of life. I spend m1y on everything else, gadgets, nick knacks I can't take with me when I'm g1 but we breath pretty well. I'm comfortable being indoors now, and the return on this investment is my family's good health. If you go out drinking, waste m1y on getting your nails d1, play the lottery or can afford an extra tank a gas each month then stop whining about filter price. They owe you nothing. They made a machine which if used will benefit you - pay for it, it's worth it. Even if 1 defender upkeep costs me 200 bucks to maintain give or take a year that's roughly 45 cents a day. My kids and wife breath clean air while at home for about 50 cents a day, damn worth it.
