MERCURY 115 - HP I Bought My Friends Boat it Needed Too Much Work The Sun Destroyed The Interior & Floor The Motor has Low Hours My Friend Was The Original Owner. I hired a Boat Mechanic to check out the motor He Ran a Check Compression it was 140 All 6 Cylinders. The Mechanic was Impressed he said that's the same Compression it had when it Came Out of The Factory New 140 Compression Next he Started The Motor and Then Checked Out The Gears Forward and Reverse Everything Worked Great He liked the Motor he said it's Good Motor Then I had him removed the Motor off the Boat I Made an Engine Stand He Put it on The Stand. After That I Bought a Nice Boat That Needed a Motor it Was No Good it Did Not Run. I had that Mechanic Come out to Check The Boat To Make Sure The Mercury 115 Was Going To Fit. He Wanted To Check Out The Force - 150 HP Find Out What Was Wrong With It. He Bypassed the Fuel Tank Brought a 5 Gallon Boat Tank put Gas and Oil & Starter Fluid and Battery it Started He adjusted the Carburetor's Ran a Compression Check and he said this Motor is in great shape who told you the Motor Was No Good The Guy That Sold Me The Boat He was a young Guy he Didn't Know Much About Boats.The Gas Was Old and had Too Much Oil in it The Battery was old and not strong enough.
