Description
This listing is for a vintage Dietz kerosene railroad lantern No.2 Blizzard with a rare red Fitzall Loc-Nob globe, made in New York, USA. These lanterns were widely used for railroad signaling, with red glass typically meaning stop or danger. This lantern measures approximately 15 inches tall (without handle), 8 inches wide, and weighs about 3 lbs 0.2 oz. The globe is embossed “DIETZ FITZALL N.Y. U.S.A.” on one side and “LOC-NOB REGD IN U.S.A.” on the other. The lantern is untested, but the fuel cap opens and closes well, and there are no holes in the metal body. The deep red glass globe is intact with no cracks or breaks. The lantern shows some surface wear and oxidation from age, giving it a classic, well-preserved vintage character. Overall, this is a great collectible piece of American railroad history — ideal for collectors, vintage décor, or restoration.
