RARE Vintage 1990 American Girl Samantha Doll, Trunk , 11 Outfits w/ Accessories, Books & Extras

A gently played with American Girl Samantha Parkington made by The Pleasant Company in West Germany. She was purchased in late 1990. This was when The Pleasant Company had just begun making the transition from white torso dolls to tan torso dolls. The few dolls manufactured at that particular moment possessed white torso doll features (hair and certain facial features were subtly changed) with tan torso bodies. Fun Fact: The Pleasant Company changed the torso color of the dolls, because they were about to release the Felicity Merriman doll, whose period dress required lower necklines than the 3 original dolls. This lot includes the doll, trunk, all the outfits and accessories shown, the first 3 Samantha Parkington storybooks in paperback, some of the little inserts that came with the outfits and some American Girl collector cards. A coupe of her white garments show some slight yellowing, there is the beginning of a small rip on the back of one of her original black Mary Jane shoes, the outside of the steamer trunk has seen better days (the inside is immaculate and the hinges and latches are in perfect working condition), but overall, even without considering that this Samantha doll is over 35 years old, the lot is in excellent condition.
