Description

The Fender Classic series guitars are made in Mexico instruments that predate Fender’s Vintera (now Vintera II) series. This is one of the latest models having been made in 2018, and is frankly a lovely instrument. The neck has this really unique vintage tint to it, far more brown than it is yellow (compared to my American Original ‘50s strat, for context). It’s a stunner with the surf green color, the woody tint, and the aged white plastic on the knobs and pickups; however, the real star of the show is the sound. The pickups completely embody the brightness and the ruggedness of a ‘50s strat (once again, compared to my AO ‘50s) and are a really magnificent option, especially for the price point. The tuning machines and the trem work great and have not left me wanting. In terms of areas that might need work, there are a few rather minor flaws that I’ve pictured here. The output jack has been retightened, but the washer isn’t flush to the input jack so a bit of the metal is sticking out (doesn’t affect anything, but thought you should know). If you want me to fix it, let me know since it’d only take like, 5-10 minutes to get the job done. There’s also minor pickguard bending around the neck pickup and the top of the backplate, but it’s not anything major as you can see. So, that being said, if I like it so much, why am I selling it? Simple, I am having a hard time justifying owning 2 ‘50s style strats, especially when I could sell this one and get a ‘60s style or an entirely different guitar instead. Alas, between the American Original ‘50s and this one, this one is the one I’d rather have go (the other one is 3x the price so, that’ll do it). I’m open to offers, particularly trades/partial trades since the price is firm. The price is listed as it is since the surf green ones are generally in higher demand than other classic series ‘50s strats, so I think it’s pretty fair. They go for around $540 on reverb, so deducting fees + a bit extra due to it being local is why I put it at the current price. Listed below are trades that I’m particularly partial too: - 60s and 70s style stratocasters - Fender Jaguar and Jazzmaster models (willing to add cash depending on quality) - Fender Mustang models (willing to add cash depending on quality) - Gibson SGs (anything more than a special or tribute I can add cash for) - Danelectro guitars - Gretsch guitars (hollowbodies preferred) So, interested? Have something you think I’d like? Have questions? Send them my way! Comes with original gig bag, tremolo arm, and a spare set of ernie ball strings.
