Description

50 Mexican Pesos (1821-1947) Gold Bullion Coin W/Coin Case. [ No Certificate Or Paperwork ] My grandfather recently just passed away, and to my surprise he left Me this in his will, I wasn't very close to him although I do recall when I was much younger him showing the coin to me, it was always in his gun safe, and it had a certificate of authenticity along with it but for reasons unknown to me when I received it in the mail, because my grandfather lived in upstate new york, that was all I found in the package along with a letter explaining why I was gifted this coin and that my grandfather had passed away and that this was one of the request stated in his final will and testament. -----|Coin's Official Back-Story|------ The Centenario weighs 42 grams and contains 37.5 grams (1.20565 troy ounces) of gold in an alloy of 90% gold and 10% copper. The obverse (front) of the Mexican 50 Pesos features a striking portrait of Winged Victory standing in front of the Mexican volcanoes Iztacc'huatl and Popocat'ptl. The obverse also lists the face value ('50 PESOS'), the gold content, and the date of issue opposite the date of Mexican Independence,1821. The reverse (back) features an eagle and snake design surrounded by the words 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS,' which translate to United Mexican States.
