These are a pair of exquisite Empire-style mahogany armchairs, showcasing the grandeur and opulence characteristic of early 19th-century French neoclassical design. The chairs feature richly carved giltwood swan motifs on the armrests and are adorned with bronze (ormolu) appliqués depicting classical motifs such as rosettes and acanthus leaves. The upholstery is a luxurious silk or satin fabric in a soft cream and gold palette, patterned with floral and stripe designs, perfectly complementing the gilt accents.
