The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D, Nintendo 3DS, Authentic! One of Nintendo's most critically acclaimed 64-bit titles gets revived and refined for handheld gamers in The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D. The action finds Link stuck in a parallel universe in the land of Termina, transformed into a Deku Scrub, and given only 72 hours to find the mischievous Skull Kid, collect the all-powerful Majora's Mask, and save the world. The three-day cycle gives players roughly one hour of real time to accomplish their goals, but a Groundhog Day-like mechanic lets them witness those three days over and over by playing the fabled "Song of Time." Aside from the time-traveling mechanic, the action in Majora's Mask 3D should be familiar to Zelda fans, with Link aiding villagers, exploring dungeons, battling boss characters, and acquiring powerful items to help him reach new areas. The game does place a greater emphasis on masks than ever before, with more than 20 to collect, and three that allow Link to transform into different creatures, each with special abilities. Traveling back in time results in the loss of keys and minor items, but game progress and major items are retained, and any accumulated money can be saved in the bank. However, if gamers fail to return to the first day in time, the world will end, and they will lose everything. Majora's Mask 3D offers greater visual fidelity than the 2000 original, and the game takes advantage of the new 3DS to offer a variety of new features. A face-tracking feature adjusts images based on the user's viewing angle, and gyro controls let players move their system to look around and aim more quickly. The new C-stick also lets gamers look around Termina while they play, and touch-screen controls give easier access to items and inventory
