Carmel Artist Malcolm Moran MCM 1971 Bronze Sculpture of Children Playing

Description

Overview: Up for sale is an intriguing and captivating bronze sculpture by listed Carmel, California artist, Malcolm Moran. Moran is world-renowned for his delicate bronze sculptures, often featuring children. This piece depicts two children playing. I think it likely included balloons or a kite, but those elements were broken off. There is also an auxiliarly piece (I think this is part of the kite string), which I can't figure out where it fits. The figure is bronze. Artist's name and date (1971) inscribed into the base. It's a really nostalgic and whimsical sculpture. Condition: Shows damage, including loss of wire elements. Appears that auxiliary piece is broken off. Measurements: Sculpture measures approximately 7.25 inches high. (The kite extends up and seems to rest at 8 inches high.) Base is approximately 3.75 inches wide x 2.75 inches deep.
