Description
Here is an old German salt glaze stoneware beer stein with pewter lid. The stein features a relief of cherubs with grapes and vines with a cobalt blue background and the motto "Hopfen u. Malz, Golt erhall's" which roughly means " Hops and malts, God provides " a traditional German toast before beer. The stein measures 7" tall by 4" in diameter and holds 0.5L(marked). The piece is in very good condition without chips or cracks. Marked Germany 879.
