The Tandy 1500 HD was an early portable laptop introduced around 1990, notable for being one of the industry's first laptops under six pounds with both a standard floppy drive and a hard drive. It originally sold at an MSRP of around $1,999 but soon saw a price reduction to about $1,699. The Tandy 1500 HD featured an NEC V-20 CPU running at 10 MHz, 640K of RAM expandable to 1.64 MB, a 20 MB hard drive, and a blue-on-white LCD screen with CGA graphics. It had an 84-key keyboard and ran MS-DOS 3.3. Despite being considered to have relatively weak specs and a high price at launch, the laptop was praised for its very lightweight design and portability
