Description

For Sale $800 OBO - open to all reasonable offers - Tote Gote 670 NOVA Complete Running Partial Restoration Project - Located in Brea, California. It is about a 1963 I'd guess. All the hard to find parts have been patiently hunted down, acquired or fabricated. Other items have been thoughtfully and professionally reconditioned. Engine is a 7 HP Tecumseh HH70 (cast iron block) and is not original to this machine. It has a new carb on it and starts after a just a few pulls it takes for the Walbro pulse fuel pump this bike requires, to get gas to it. The coil and points are also new. Bike has a kill switch installed on the handlebars wired to the points which makes it so much safer. The bike has never been stored with gas in the tank, It was always drained after each use and the carb ran dry. The climbaway clutch is there. It is a 1 inch model. It has new correct springs installed in it which I acquired from a fellow enthusiast. It opens and closes freely, with the belt going all the way to the bottom of the sheaves at max RPM. Also present is the neutral shifter assembly, you often see these missing on these bikes...but this one is there. It allows you to push the bike and start it without the bike "walking" away. I fabricated the side screens during covid by hand. The expanded metal is 1/4 inch gauge which is as similar as one can find to the original style Bonham used. This expanded metal had to be special ordered. Throttle and brake cables are new and replaced with silver housing, appropriate reproductions for the OEM ones this bike came with. The front brake and rear disc brake have been relined but need adjusting. The gas tank has been completely renovated and holds gas perfectly. It was soaked in metal rescue until no rust was seen on it. Then the small pinhole leaks were soldered professionally by an old timer at a radiator shop. Then the tank was red coated on the inside and given a coat of black paint and primer on the outside to totally protect it. I had two seats made at one point by a professional auto upholsterer who finished them in black leather with piping similar to the original. Both front and rear foot pegs are there, and the included repro rubber covers are included for after you paint this machine. The seat pan over the rear buddy seat was replaced as the original one had rusted out. The front plate where the front decal goes was straightened. One of the levers and the rear fender are not actually original to this bike. The are off another 670, I happened to find a guy about 10 years ago selling just those two parts this bike was missing. Comes with spare components and things to finish the restoration of it off. This includes a set of decals for the bike. It includes both a .10 over and .20 over pistons for the HH70. A spare engine block you can use for parts. Two recoil assemblies, two blower housings, one is the original blower housing for the HH70. The blower housing on the engine now is off an H50 and had to be installed to fit into the frame. Original rubber motor mounts, and a box of various hardware used in the resto. Yes, the bike is covered in a light surface rust. I actually like the way it looks as it is sort of a "rat rod" look. The rust that is on it could very easily be sanded away. It has been in my garage for the last 20 years, only stored indoors as long as I've owned it. It came to me as a basket case in a literal box of parts from Colorado. I was told it was bought in a auction of an abandoned motorcycle shop "Gilbert's Cycle" near Grand Junction. I purchased it on eBay about 2006. It is a project, albeit a very complete one. Perfect for the enthusiast who knows these bikes and is willing to devote time to preserving the rich history of the Bonham corp. The bike runs and drives "fine", it did spit some oil out the breather today which is a new one for me. I worked on it on and off for years, now its your turn to paint it and finish it. I have run out of time and shop space to work on this bike and the last step, painting it and adjusting things is something I can no longer accomplish. As much as I'd love to see it finished off in a beautiful aqua metallic paint job - I just don't have the time. It's been a labor of love but I must pass it on. I'd be happy to meet you somewhere within like 150 miles of me. I can help ship it if you want, UShip, or a carrier of your choice. Crating it is probably not an option unless you send me a crate, even then that sounds like a hassle. Cash, cashiers check, maybe pay pal or zelle
