Description

This is a high-quality, rich-sounding violin and it's even got a one-piece back. It's very balanced string to string and has a creamy, sweet, mids-forward voice. It has a handwritten label inside (in German) that basically reads as "Marcus Stainer, Gurgerlicher Lauten-und, in Tiroll 1646." It's clearly a "copy" that is a German-made trade instrument from around 1900 or 1910. Regardless, it's a nice instrument and it has been well cared for. I have owned it for the past 15 yrs. It has newer boxwood fittings, bone nut and saddle and nice (perlon)strings on it (synthetic core/gold "E'). comes with a case (nothing special, just protection) NO bow. Price is $500
