Description

This is a 1990’s reproduction of Vitra Eames La Chaise lounge chair with a white polyurethane shell, chrome-plated steel supports, and a solid oak base. It’s considered an icon of mid-century design. Materials: It is made with a white lacquered polyurethane shell, chrome-plated tubular steel frame supports, and a solid natural oak cruciform base. History: The chair was originally designed for a Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) competition but was not mass-produced during the Eames' lifetime because it was too costly. Vitra began serial production in the early 1990s in response to public interest. New versions of the chair are available for purchase from various online retailers, with prices generally ranging from around $11,000 to over $15,000. MoMA Design Store sells the Vitra Eames La Chaise for approximately $13,226. The Eames Office website lists the chair for about $15,320.
