There are many variables that affect ice retention including contents of the cooler, ratio of ice, original ice temperature, type of ice (crushed, block, cube), ambient temperature, exposure to direct sunlight, etc. Therefore, we can't tell you exactly how long ice will last inside your Nutshell, but we can tell you it will last longer than it would have inside most plastic alternatives. United States United States I recommend this product Freaking AWESOME!!!!!! I took a gamble and ordered a nutshell cooler because I was moving to Spain and did not have room for a large cooler. My purchase also allowed me to bring crabmeat from the US as I was relocating. I am so impressed how long the nutshell kept my items extremely cold. I was worried as I had a 10 hour layover in Austria and I thought my $200 purchased of lump crabmeat would be garbage, but nope!! By combining the Nutshell will Cooler Shock freezer packs. Upon arriving at my place in Spain the interior temperature was 30 degrees. I was both shocked and completely relieved. All of my items were still fully chilled.
