The product was famously sold in distinctive cobalt blue bottles, which are now popular collector's items. The original formula contained sodium bromide and acetanilide, both of which are toxic substances that were later removed from the product. The bottle appears to be an older variant, as modern Bromo-Seltzer is sold in effervescent granule form.
