Description

This is a RARE VINTAGE model. It does not have paperwork, it does not have a registration. We bought it in Indiana 6 years ago and drove it here with a flatbed truck, it has been used as a guest room at our property, we moved and have it stored at a warehouse now. (The missing window glass has been ordered and will be put in as soon as we receive it) EXTERIOR—— The exterior is very original and all the exterior skin and roof is aluminum, I did not find any steel panels like some Vagabonds had. Bumper, Frame, & A-frame: The frame has some surface rust but appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection. The rear bumper and very rear cross member is bent. Dents, Scratches & Damage: The worst dent I could find on this trailer is a 4 inch diameter dent on the street side rear of the trailer up high near the roof. Other than this dent you really have to hunt hard to find even the smallest dent. Overall the exterior skin is very straight and very sweet. Entry Door/Keys: It has the original style Vagabond entry doors with inner steel frames and aluminum exterior skins. The aluminum skins are in good condition but they do have some minor oxidation at the bottom. The doors have the original Bargmen brand L-66 locks, which are in working order but there are no keys. Entry Step: It has the original slide out steel steps, which are in working condition but do have some surface rust. Front Hoist: It has the original front hoist, which is in working condition but could stand to be lubricated. Hitch Coupler: It has the original hitch coupler with 2 inch ball. The coupler is in working condition. Roof: It has the original cambered aluminum roof and all original vents with the exception of the furnace vent, which is missing and has been covered with a tin can to keep the water out. A cambered roof is a lot better than a flat roof for several reasons. It sheds water better and is much stronger so it can handle heavier snow loads in winter climates. The entire roof has been coated with cool seal roof coating but some is peeling. We have scraped all the roof seams and re-sealed them with Polar Seal. Screen Door: It is missing the front screen door, it originally had a sliding screen door. It does have the original rear wood screen door, which is in good condition but some of the wood screen door jam has rotted out especially at the bottom. Underbelly: It has the original underbelly, which is 90% intact. Some of the insulation board at the very front and very rear has deteriorated some. RUNNING GEAR —— Axle/Springs: It has the original Linco brand axles with independent coil spring suspension. It has surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid. Dry Weight: 7280#. Hitch Ball Height: Approximately 19 inches. Hitch Ball Size: 2 inch. Hitch Weight: Approximately 850 pounds. Hub Caps: No.Safety Chains: Yes, but they might be a little on the short side. Spare Tire: No.Tire Conditions: It has 4 newer 7:00-15LT 10 ply bias tires mounted on newer non-split rims with five lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle. ELECTRICAL —- It has the original electrical system and wiring with a Square D box with three automatic reset circuit breakers. All original 110 V outlets and lights are in working condition. For an early 50s trailer this one has lots of electrical outlets. Entire Electrical system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use. 110 Volt Lights: Yes, most are original and in working order.12 Volt Int. Lights: No.Brakes: Yes, it has electric brakes on both axlesBreakaway Switch: No.Converter: No.Int. Fan(s): Yes, it has a total of four interior fans but none of them are currently working. They may just have Mud-Dobber nests keeping them from working or may just need to be lubricated. Plug for Ext. Lights: Yes, it has the seven way plug like most current RV’s use. Porch Light: Yes, it has the original porch light on the rear and a newer porch light on the front. Front porch light works and I think the switch is bad for the rear porch light.RV Battery: No. NEWLY ADDED WORK —— When we bought this it was in all original shape, i can send photos of original condition so you can see the before and after. All floor was replaces with solid Tiger Wood. We removed the original kitchen, the original bathroom and the two twin beds. We built a table where the kitchen sink was, we opened the bathroom area and added a vintage sink. The ceiling area where the bathroom was we covered with wood, as well as some areas of the living room. We built a Queen bed frame. We added a vintage chimney. We built some shelving inside the wardrobe.
