Description
Adorable Pair Of Home-Made Farmhouse Benches. Meet Cecelia and Sadie! These two wonderful creations were made from wood that was repurposed. All the wood that you see In the pictures below the seat itself came from interior walls that were torn down from Rehobeth, Massachusetts. The two large plank pieces of wood on top used for the seat were leftover pieces from Swansea, Massachusetts. So the Idea behind these pieces came from having a love affair with the adorable nature of simple majestic Items like benches that gravitate your every essence. They are pieces that span generations and have so much character. Their overall look Is charming, and they can be implemented anywhere, whether that be inside or outside. So, in the case of these benches, I wanted to shape them into an iconic farmhouse style using all this wood I acquired. I love doing all sorts of styles for benches, and this style that you see are probably my favorite and the fact that they are solid as a rock and very sturdy. Their simple classic visual look is easthetically pleasing and reminds you of the yesteryears. I also wanted to do this project in a way like thise so many before me where they would use things that were around them. In this instance, I repurposed and upcycled would that was used for something totally different into these beautiful benches. That's exactly what the old timers would do in the past that I'm so drawn to. Utilizing and making use of things around you that would otherwise be discarded. With this design, I used many 35 - and 15-degree cuts to get the angles I wanted and for the benches to be even. After all wood boards were cut they were then sanded and then that's where the fun begins. Each piece was then assembled using 2 inch screws to hold them firmly together. Besides their beautiful structure, I love the honey color wood and the knots and Imperfections of the seat tops. Seeing the transformation of all these separate things coming together into this useful multifunctional piece is so gratifying. To finish these off, I wanted them to have their organic primitive nature and by doing so, water-based top coat was used to seal them off and all the beautiful color of the wood tones. They depict a time of years ago where things were good and wholesome. They have value not only as a functional bench, they also have a mental and physical connection to the past, too. That itself is so rewarding. These pieces can be used together and/or interchangeably. Whether they are used indoors and/or outdoors, their presence will be felt. They can be used in a entryway/foyer/ mudroom for a place to sit to put shoes on and/or as a furniture decoration for mood and Inviting presence, along a wall On any room for extra seating, under a window to gaze outside at nature, In a corner, with a picture/old window and mirror above her, in a hallway, outside on a porch on each side of the door for curb appeal and in a garden. The ppossibilities and choices are endless. They have a great way of accentuating a space and room. You can even decorate them for the seasons and holidays, elevating their eclectic nature. Very solid, very sturdy pieces. Thank you for your time Appreciate it You may buy both and/or one 75/Each
