Description

Sony SA-VA3 Active Speaker System This is a full range entertainment system with built-in amplifier. Excellent sound quality. The electronics are housed in the lower half of the left column, the lower half of the right column houses the sub-woofer. The two units are linked together by a hefty 13-foot cable. The top speaker sections of each column contain a woofer (2x23 watts), a tweeter (2x22.5 watts) and an angled tweeter (1x26 watts). The rear surround channel (1x26 watts) is handled by a pair of satellite speakers that connect to terminals in the back of the left column. The sub-woofer adds 27 watts for a total of 170 watts of sound. There are three effect options: Matrix-which creates a pseudo surround sound from a stereo signal; Simulated-which generated a stereo effect from a mono signal; and Dolby Surround. This unit also features a full-spec Pro-Logic decoder with 4 modes. The subwoofer can be turned on or off.
