Description

This is a fascinating antique Schilling hard plastic head, hard rubber limbs & cloth body baby doll 22" tall. It has a Warner & Sons wind up box marked "Talking Unit Mfd by Warner & Sons 300 N.Pasadena CA, Pat. 1998149, Other Pats Pend. Sold in department stores in the 40's and 50's advertising : "She talks! Laughs! Cries! Gurgles! Sobs! With a real human voice by JJ Warner recording studios in California. Molded brown hair and green eyes that open & shut, lashes, lip color & little teeth are all there. Right eyebrow rubbed off. Face in pretty good shape but top of head has a lot of scratches. When wound the Schilling phonograph mechanism gargles some words that cannot be understood but mechanism works. Cloth body is pretty clean and in good condition with the exception of both arms dangling from cloth shoulders & needing reinforcement. Please take a look at all the pictures. With a little TLC this rare doll is definitely a wonderful doll to add to a collection. Available for pickup at my Anaheim home near Kraemer and Orangethorpe. Sold as is. Doll only no clothing included.
