FOR SALE - 1978 Vespa Piaggio Grande Moped (For Restoration) - $500 The Grande (meaning large) was made for the USA only and was designed to carry two people with it's extra long seat and retractable rear foot pegs. It came with a 2 1/2"x17" front tire and a 2 3/4"x16" rear tire both with different tread patterns (they were available with spoke wheels and mag wheels on later Grandes), automatic variable transmission, telescopic front fork suspension, and rear hydraulic shock absorbers. The base models speedometer was mounted externally and to the handle bars, whereas the deluxe speedometer was mounted inside the headlamp assembly. Condition: This bike is sold ONLY for restoration or parts. Working condition is unknown. Odometer is detached and requires re-affixing. Bike shows considerable rust and wear but is otherwise intact. A rare find and a great project for any collector. HJC shatter-resistant helmet included with sale as well as User Maintenance and Consumer Information guide. (Leather side bags also available for an additional $50). Pickup: Bike is available for local pickup ONLY in Ocean Township, NJ. Buyer must provide their own transportation for the item.
