Vintage classic 90s Cannondale M500 mountain city bike bicycle 18 inch blue aluminum This is a beautiful vintage early '90s Cannondale mountain bike. The beauty of this era is they were well made in America high quality bikes but without the heavy shocks that make them unsuitable for a casual cruiser city bike. So not suited for heavy duty downhill mountain biking, but perfect for light trails, gravel, etc but also well suited for a lightweight around town city bike. The designation is m500 which was kind of mid-range I think, a step up from the m300 with a little better components but similar otherwise. The tires are not heavy duty knobby but not slick road bike tires either. They seem kind of in the middle which would be perfect for city, trails, gravel etc. Just a great all-around bike. Sturdy but lightweight with aluminum frame and good quality lightweight components, rims, etc. Rides and breaks and shifts smoothly and ready to ride, but could probably use a little fine tuning from a shop or friend that is a little more expert at this kind of thing. But it's a good working bike and ready to go. Cannondale was and is a high quality maker beloved and well-respected by the road and mountain bike community. This is a great example of the quality work they were doing in the '90s. The color is a beautiful medium dark blue finish and in good cosmetic condition as well. Available in Northeast Seattle.
