Vintage Korex Mid Century Electro Match Table Top Crystal Lighter. vintage Korex Electro Match table lighter, typically made from cut crystal with metal accents. These lighters are a unique piece of mid-century modern decor, popular from the 1950s through the 1970s. The "electro match" mechanism works as follows: The metal wand (or "match") is pulled out from the base, which simultaneously creates an electric spark and ignites the wick at the tip. The lighter is powered by AA batteries and uses standard lighter fluid. When the wand is placed back into its receptacle, the flame is automatically extinguished. There is minor battery acid in the battery compartment, SEE PICTURES. When I put the batteries an and pulled out the stick, I did see a small spark. I have no lighter fluid so I could test it. So I do not know if this works as it should. Batteries NOT INCLUDED. Measures approximately 5.5 inches from top to bottom. This item is heavy.
