Description
Very good condition 1965 Fender Stratocaster in a very interesting red refinish that was done in the 80's. All original (with the exception of two knobs), no breaks. This is probably one of the stratiest 60's Stratocaster's I have played in a long time. Nice chunky neck, while floating in the medium weight range. Funny enough, this guitar was strung lefty for a long time, hence the reverse pick wear. It seems as though the guitar was strung this way for a large portion of its life, but plays wonderfully now strung righty. The original pickups have a surprising amount of low end, while being one of the more chimey examples I've heard as well. As was somewhat common for player guitars of this era, someone has made their own fret markers up the neck as pictured. This definitely gives the guitar its own character, and is highly recognizable! This is purely cosmetic of course. Neck is straight, intonation is on. Original tuners work well and stay in tune well. All electronics have been tested to be working as they should. No scratchy pots etc. Decent play wear throughout the guitar as expected, but this example does not show signs of abuse. Frets have plenty of life. There is some nice flame happening on the back of the neck as well. One of the raddest examples of a mid 60's refin strat. Comes with non original case as pictured. Willing to ship or drive a reasonable distance. Always open to offers!
