Backstory These started life in Pioneer’s traditional, conservative simulated oak finish. But immediately after being purchased from Circuit City in late October 1990, they surreptitiously appeared at the G-Lab at CalArts, where school equipment was definitely not used in this old-school audio glow-up. Customized This wasn't a casual weekend DIY project. Uniform Finish: A smooth, flawless satin orange coat across the top and sides. Sharp Masking: Clean, razor-straight lines separating the orange from the factory black faces. Industrial Contrast: The deep black 10” woofers, silver cone rings, and open bass ports create an intentional, high-contrast look.
