Description

1(contact info removed). 35mm film, SLR camera. Black is a little more expensive than chrome. One of the longest-manufactured SLR models. The bodies were manufactured in Japan (1976–1978), Hong Kong (1977–1990), and China (1990–1997). Cameras assembled in China had plastic top and bottom, didn't have "Asahi" words or AOCo logo on the front. Deduct 20-30% for plastic version. Cameras made in Japan and Hong Kong were all metal, but sometimes it's not easy to figure out which one is which. Besides possible stickers, there are several features which may hint one way or another. A lot (but not all) of Japanese bodies had serial number on top, close to the rewind knob, and a bump under the serial number. Some Japanese cameras had "Asahi Opt. Co. Japan" engraving on the back, others had "Asahi Opt. Co.". Many Hong Kong cameras had serial number stamped on the bottom. Check this thread for more details.
