H.N. Hartwell & Son, Inc. World War 2 era Early 20th Century company sign Painted on Masonite board Set of 2 Used, in good condition.  May show vintage wear. Photos accurately represent the condition of the item. The Boston coal company was located at 73 Water Street and was active in the wholesale trade. Historical records in the attached photos show an advertisement mailer sent on February 28, 1929: “HARTWELL'S PREMIUM NEW RIVER (VERY LUMPY) —AND ALSO OF— OUR REGULAR POOL 1 NAVY STANDARD NEW RIVER Discharging at Mystic Wharf, Boston, about FEB 28 1929 These are the very Best Grade New River Coals Just detach and fill out the return card H. N. HARTWELL & SON, Inc.” A workmen’s compensation Court case is also archived: Gauss v. H.N. Hartwell Co. Inc. Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts.
