OfferUp is looking for a UX researcher with a passion for distilling customer insights from both quantitative and qualitative data.  You will be joining a small, agile research team that is working collaboratively across teams and  utilizing creative methods to inform critical product and business decisions.  There is huge potential in this role to impact both our customers and business results.  

Our ideal candidate is driven - you have a bias for action and can ramp up quickly on new methods, domains, and users.  You are endlessly curious about user behavior and have a knack for finding patterns and insights in direct and indirect sources of data.  You are also highly adaptable - you can collaborate with multiple disciplines, jump in on new projects, and quickly pivot based on new information and opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work across teams to identify and prioritize research questions based on current knowledge, project goals, and risks.
  • Identify the execute on the best methodology to answer questions, test assumptions, and make decisions.
  • Perform quick but thorough data analysis in order to create insightful and actionable findings.
  • Communicate research insights clearly and efficiently.
  • Track and prioritize UX issues.
  • Assist other research team members with execution of large scale research projects and deliverables.

Requirements:

  • 1-5 years experience in UX Research utilizing a variety of different methods.
  • Experience doing statistical analysis of survey data or product usage data.
  • Ability to articulate clear research scenarios, and develop creative approaches to researching complex interactions.
  • Ability to distill complex concepts into succinct, simple insights.
  • Advanced degree in behavioral or social sciences, including psychology (experimental, social, cognitive, etc.), HCI, human factors, or a related field OR equivalent industry experience.
  • Detail oriented, decisive, and self-driven.
  • Experience utilizing Lean UX research methods a plus.
