I purchased a 2014 Dodge Durango from House of Cars about a year ago. At the time, I explained that I specifically needed a larger, dependable vehicle for my growing family. Before finalizing the purchase, I put down a $200 deposit to hold the vehicle while I switched my auto loan over. My understanding was that this deposit would be refunded, but I never received the refund. I was also told a missing volume knob would be mailed to me once it came in, but I never received that either. Within less than two weeks of purchase, the vehicle needed suspension work. I was later told the suspension components on the vehicle were not properly rated for it. A few months after that, the alternator went out. Now, roughly one year after purchase, I have been quoted more than $8,500 in front-engine repairs involving cam/lifter/rocker components. The timing of this has been extremely difficult for my family, as this happened right before we were supposed to bring our daughter home after a long NICU stay. I understand this is a used vehicle, but the number and seriousness of the issues in such a short time has been very disappointing and financially stressful. I also reached out previously regarding the deposit and did not receive a response. At this point, I am gathering my purchase documents, repair records, and communication history. I would encourage anyone considering purchasing here to review all paperwork carefully, get an independent inspection before buying, confirm any promises in writing, and keep documentation of all communication. If anyone else has had similar issues with this company, I would be open to hearing from you and comparing documentation to better understand whether this is an isolated experience or part of a larger pattern. I am also considering contacting the appropriate consumer protection agencies.
Tim & David are two of the nicest guys here! I was very curious and had lots of questions before I came in and Tim was so very knowledgeable and kind to me so I had to show up and everything went great! I bought a car and I’m so happy!
I would just find another dealership .. Got a Lexus from here that broke down two weeks later , called the dealership and at first they was helpful until they wasn’t .. if you get a car from here go get a diagnostics on the vehicle before you pay your first payment ! That’s what I did and now they had to buy it back !!! When the repair on your car cost more than the vehicle or it takes more than 30days for them to fix your lemon ITS A LEMON in the state of mn I had to TEACH CAR DEALERSHIP what it actually was because over and over DAVID SWORE I WAS LYING. He INSISTED I was on the hook for the loan “ the bank is lying to you” . Well that same man DAVID had to call me and tell me the loan was removed from my husbands name ( after about 3 months )DO NOT LET THESE PEOPLE PLAY IN YOUR FACE PLAY BACK ! . The sweet talking only last so long & only works on a selective few .
