  My hard-working 19-year-old son purchased a Corvette from Calk Motors (Arizona) and had it shipped to California. We were excited, but the check engine light came on right away when we first drove it. We contacted the owner immediately and were told it was “no big deal.” What made this worse is that we were sent a video showing the car “running fine,” but we later learned the check engine light had been reset with a scanner. Since delivery, the car has been in the shop and we’ve had to get multiple inspections and opinions. We are now dealing with major mechanical issues that should never have been present at the time of sale. When we asked Calk Motors to help make it right, the response was disappointing—he said the 15-day liability period was over and refused to assist, even though the issues were discovered immediately and the car has been in the shop since. Financially, my son is stuck with a huge burden: $3,000 down, $22,000 financed, plus about $2,000 in CA taxes/fees (around $27,000 total), and we’re already facing about $3,400+ in repair/diagnostic costs, with payments still due. Please get a full independent inspection and get everything in writing before buying from here—especially if you’re purchasing out of state and shipping the vehicle.
