  • Tried to sell me a car without disclosing there was no title, on top of a 14% interest rate (with an 800 credit score). I was in the market for a specific car, and theirs was the first I looked at. Boyd was great. He wasn’t very familiar with the model, but as a true enthusiast he understood why I wanted it. When it came to financing, their financing manager (Mike?) tried to stick me with a 14% interest rate. When I told him my wife has a 800 credit score and requested to have her co-sign, he told me it “won’t make much of a difference”. I was very transparent, I like the car but not the loan they were offering me. They kept me waiting around for hours to “work on it” only to continue expanding the extended warranty to add value as opposed to removing add ons, or allowing my wife to co-sign to lower the monthly payments and cost of financing. After being denied the co-sign 2 or 3 times, we went straight to SDCCU and got approved same day at 5.29% When I returned ready to complete the transaction, the (general?) manager Kim told me he wasn’t sure if the tile was “available”. WHAT? this was the first I’ve heard this after a full day trying to work with them. Their back office was closed at this point so he asked me to check back on Monday. Come Monday, and still no title. To no one’s surprise, Kim says if I use THEIR financing the tile’s not needed. If I wanted to use my own financing however, I’d need to wait for them to obtain the title (for a car that’s been sitting on their lot for 5+ months). Unfortunate because they had the car priced right, but I guess it’s because they make up the difference with their financing. For an added laugh: they also have a paint protection that you have to pay for, since it’s supposedly a coating added when they receive the vehicle. When I mentioned the car was covered in scratches, they said the protection is so that it “won’t get worse”. Paying to protect scratches? Ok lol. I ended up finding a much cleaner example of the same car, hassle free with Mossy. I wanted to support local, small owned business, but I guess there’s a reason why Mossy has been a household name in SD for decades. If they have a specific car you want, and you don’t care what financing and add ons they throw at you, you’re in luck with Legacy. If you’re informed however, buckle up for a long ride to nowhere.

  • ***Buyer Beware** purchased a vehicle here and have had nothing but major problems. Their mechanic who supposedly did a thorough inspection likely did nothing of the sort. They did however overfill the oil chamber causing a "leak" which turned out to be a blessing in that I caught other issues before complete disaster occurred. I purchased an extended warranty with their recommended company (a joke, they get a -5* for service). The warranty covered NONE of the issues nor were they responsive so I cancelled the extended warranty and Legacy received the refund check and held it for months. They never sent it to my bank nor did they contact me. When I contacted them there was no apology, nothing. They likely deposited my check and collected the interest and probably would have kept it if I didn't finally call and inquire about the refund. Lastly, I realized they passed on a fee to prepare the car for sale to me which they should not have. I don't even know if the finance guy I talked to at purchase was really who he said he was. Shady ****Very interesting response. Your timeline re the refund check is mostly inaccurate.

  • From start to finish my experience at this establishment was great. My wife and I came looking to trade in our jeep for a newer one and that’s exactly what happened. We were offered a great price for her jeep, and then paid a very reasonable price for the new one. Julio was very helpful in every step of the process and ensured we met the numbers we wanted. All in all the process was very quick and with great results. I will be recommending this business when able. I think it’s worth noting that the vehicle was very clean inside and out and we were given every record possible on the new jeep to get a good amount of buyers assurance.
