My son Brandon was in need of a new car due to his previous car being totaled in an accident. After looking online for days he found a 2018 Toyota Camry that he really liked. Our salesperson was John Barker. He was very laid back, down to earth, and made us feel very welcome. He was extremely thorough and prepared when showing us the car. He popped the hood and showed us the engine and how clean it was. He went over all the safety features and showed my son how to work the electronics in the car. After the test drive we were absolutely sold on the car and John. This was my son’s first major financing purchase and John and the finance team made it a very easy process. He got approved with a great rate!! The confetti and gong ringing congratulating Brandon on his new car was awesome!! The car detailing and full tank of gas was also much appreciated!! We will absolutely use Southern again for any future vehicle needs!!
Please note: I am writing this on behalf of my mother, age 75 who trusted this dealership to sale her an operating vehicle. On day of purchase, BEFORE leaving lot with car… I gave a great review! By that night it changed. Been about 2 months with “new” car and have only driven it a total of 2 WEEKS! The car will not start. We’ve purchased two vehicles from this Acura location . First experience (2015) under HALL ACURA, had no problems but this year (2026), now under Southern Auto, was the exact opposite. Christmas week of 2025 we decided to purchase used vehicle for travel purposes. We did and found out it was a lemon on the first day of purchase. On the same day of purchase, the engine light came on, the ac/heat vents were whistling and strong burning smell was coming from the car. After dealership instructed us to bring back the car the next day for check, we arrived to the dealership with smoke coming from the engine! Manager came out to car and witnessed it. They kept car for” repair” and gave us a loaner car for 4 days. After four days, picked up the purchased vehicle. It drove fine for about 2 weeks. During 3rd week after purchase, on January 21st, 2026, the car engine started smelling like rotten eggs, and after two days of that, wouldn’t even start. A certified mechanic has informed us that that is an transmission/engine issue. Plus nothing is coming on; no lights, and no radio (which we also discovered was broken 3 weeks after purchase!) So clearly, the car was NOT repaired. The car has been sitting in driveway, broken down ever since. After many discussions in the past month on solution, the last phone exchange was about a week ago where we were finally told the car would be picked up and refunded. This solution was offered only AFTER speaking with Southern Auto Group president who opened up this option. The on location Acura manager TRAVIS originally said that we were pretty much out of $10K (Didnt finance, UP FRONT PAYMENT) because they wouldnt take the car back for refund. As of today, day of review, February 7th, 2026 the car is still here sitting in driveway,, not starting, not picked up. My mother texted Acura manager yesterday and did not receive response. She left voicemails and received no response. This is beyond unacceptable and violates numerous laws. We have been patient and cooperative despite the circumstance. If this situation is not immediately remedied further legal actions will be taken.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this Acura dealership from start to finish. Matt went above and beyond in every possible way. He was patient, knowledgeable, transparent, and genuinely cared about making sure I felt confident and comfortable throughout the entire process. There was never any pressure—just clear communication, honesty, and support. Matt made what can often be a stressful experience feel smooth and empowering. I also want to give a huge shoutout to Adam, who was incredibly helpful when it came to working through the numbers. He took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure the deal truly made sense for me. His professionalism and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Together, Matt and Adam made this one of the best car-buying experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a team that is trustworthy, knowledgeable, and truly has your best interest at heart, ask for them—you will not be disappointed. I absolutely love my Acura and couldn’t be happier with my decision!
