I just bought a Certified Pre-Owned 228i from Carlsbad BMW and I couldn't be happier. The vehicle runs smooth and the OTD price was great. My salesman, Jorge M., was awesome and he made my purchasing experience fantastic. The financing process that I underwent with Kwaku A. was straightforward, and they even secured a lower interest rate than my bank was offering. A final shoutout to the genius Manny who helped me understand all the features of the vehicle and set up my BMW app. I appreciate all of you. Thank you to the whole team for making this a great experience. I’m a customer for life!
🚨☆☆☆☆🚨 I purchased an AutoNation Certified BMW M5 Competition from BMW of Carlsbad and reported concerns with the vehicle within days of ownership. Despite being a certified vehicle, it ultimately required a complete engine replacement shortly after purchase. The vehicle spent months at the dealership while I continued making payments. During that time, I was given multiple loaner vehicles and had to make numerous trips to and from the dealership, which is about an hour from my home. I use my vehicles for business and content creation, so being without the car for months resulted in lost opportunities and significant inconvenience. Even after the engine replacement, I continued experiencing vehicle shutdown concerns and no longer had confidence in the vehicle. After opening a case with BMW North America, I was presented with three options: 🚨• Accept $2,500 and close the case. 🚨• Receive a buyback only if I purchased a brand-new BMW. 🚨• Move into a used vehicle within the AutoNation network while rolling approximately $6,000 in taxes and fees into the replacement vehicle and paying approximately $3,000 in shipping costs. 👉COST ME 9000$👈 I ultimately chose the third option because I no longer wanted the M5. While management eventually worked with me toward a resolution, it still cost me approximately $9,000 to exit a vehicle that required a complete engine replacement shortly after purchase. I documented much of this experience on TikTok, where the videos generated significant discussion and nearly 200,000 views. The response from other consumers reinforced my belief that customers deserve transparency when situations like this occur. I appreciate that a resolution was eventually reached, but I cannot ignore the months of stress, inconvenience, dealership visits, loss of vehicle use, and additional costs associated with this experience. I hope no future customer has to go through what I did.
After searching what felt like every BMW dealership in San Diego, I truly felt like none of them wanted to sell a car. I started looking north to Orange County and Los Angeles until BMW Carlsbad called again. I had a very specific monthly payment I needed for my lease, and no one was budging. Michael and Shea didn’t quit. After realizing a 2026 i4 wasn’t in the cards, I received an email about a 2025 loaner. Low miles, a great color combination, and a payment right where I needed it to be. I wasn’t the easiest client. I know that. I knew exactly what I wanted, and BMW Carlsbad didn’t give up. They didn’t just say, “Eh, forget this guy.” They kept working and got the deal done. A week later, I had an issue with a tire, and they immediately took care of the situation. They provided a courtesy vehicle without a second thought, which, as a lemon law survivor, I know can sometimes be a huge pain. It was a godsend. There was no arguing or fighting over getting a loaner. It was practically a given. Loved the experience and highly recommend BMW Carlsbad.
