In October 2025, my husband and I purchased a 2007 Nissan Sentra from Glendale Auto Source as a short-term, affordable second vehicle for our family. We chose this dealership specifically because of the way they represent themselves online. AT THE TIME of purchase and AFTER - Their website stated that their vehicles are “hand picked,” inspected, and that they “DO NOT SELL BAD CARS OR TRUCKS.” The vehicle listing itself stated “NICE CAR” and “EVERYTHING WORKS,” and that the car ran, drove, passed emissions, and was safe for the road. Within just a few weeks of ownership, the vehicle began making loud engine noises and then completely stopped running. We hired a mobile mechanic, who found a cracked engine block behind the starter at cylinder #4, and confirmed the engine was completely destroyed. The cost to repair exceeds the price we paid for the vehicle. This is a catastrophic engine failure — not normal wear and tear and not a minor “imperfection.” When we contacted the dealership, the owner stated they would not help in any way, would not participate in repairs, and offered no resolution beyond suggesting one of their shops for a repair that would cost more than the vehicle itself. No effort was made to take responsibility or work toward a fair solution. This situation has caused a major financial and personal hardship for our family. We have been forced to spend over $100 per day on transportation just to get back and forth to work and handle family obligations — during the holiday season — because the vehicle failed almost immediately after purchase. What makes this even more concerning is that after reading other reviews, we are not the first customers to report similar issues. That points to a pattern, not a one-time incident. Selling vehicles “as-is” does not excuse misleading advertising or representing cars as safe, inspected, and mechanically sound when they clearly are not. Based on our experience, we believe Glendale Auto Source engages in poor business practices and does not stand behind the claims they make to customers. We are continuing to pursue this matter through other appropriate channels. I strongly encourage anyone considering this dealership to proceed with extreme caution and to look beyond the marketing language before making a purchase.
