Welp he deleted my initial review so I’ll try again…. Scheduled a test drive and that was fine. Edgar is very responsive. We said our next step before purchasing the vehicle was completing a pre purchase inspection with OUR mechanic. He stated he needed a 10% deposit before this could be completed. Stated we weren’t willing to do this and walked away. Upon walking away, he suddenly changed his mind and said he would “waive” the fee. Fast forward to today, he drives the vehicle all the way to our mechanic in Tempe and argues that the inspection shouldn’t take more than an hour. Meanwhile our trustworthy mechanic is informing Edgar is can take 2-3 hours and he has never heard of a deposit being required. Edgar called me and stated we could use his reference for the inspection which I declined. Ultimately had to walk away as he would not allow my mechanic to perform his job. BUYERS BEWARE. This guy is trying to hide something. RESPONSE TO EDGAR’S COMMENT: First of all who is this “we”. You are the only man running this joke of a con show. 2nd off, why would someone pay upwards up $250 for a prepurchase inspection if they aren’t going to purchase a vehicle and just “window shop”. 3rd off I was going to keep peace and walk away but since you went out of your way to write a rude review on my trustworthy mechanics site, I will be reporting you to the BBB. You thought you were really sly using 1 license plate for your 14+ car lot. That is called illegal my friend. Good luck to you.
I purchased a Toyota Avalon on July 29, 2025. I went with my sons to see the vehicle, and we noticed that it was leaking power steering fluid. Initially, we decided not to buy the vehicle, but the owner insisted that it was in great condition and claimed he had not encountered any problems besides the power steering leak. He initially asked for $3,600, but eventually lowered the price to $3,200 and included a 30-day warranty for the transmission and engine, which I got in writing from him. On August 2nd, the check engine light turned on. My son checked the codes with an OBD scanner, which indicated a problem with the Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system, specifically on Bank 2. I informed the dealership owner about the issue, and he advised me to keep driving the vehicle, saying the light would go away. However, the next morning, when I started the vehicle, it emitted a huge cloud of white smoke from the exhaust. The cloud was so large that I was alarmed and turned the vehicle off immediately. I contacted the salesman/owner again, and he suggested I drive it to "his mechanic" at "his shop" because there was a warranty on a sensor. I expressed my discomfort about driving the vehicle all the way to Apache Junction, where the mechanic was located. He insisted that I had to take it there, or he could not assist me. He assured me that the mechanic was expecting me. When I arrived at the shop, the mechanic was completely unaware that I was bringing the vehicle and did not know the owner's name. He mentioned that he had only worked with the owner once before, when he replaced the timing belt on this vehicle. The mechanic then informed me that during that repair, he had suggested to the owner that the oil pressure sensor was faulty and needed replacement, and that the engine heads were cracked. The owner's response at that time was simply that he needed the vehicle to pass emissions so he could sell it. The mechanic confirmed that the dealership owner was aware of the vehicle's issues but chose not to pay for necessary repairs before selling it. As a result, the vehicle I purchased has been in the shop for two weeks, as it requires a new engine. Now, the dealership owner refuses to pay the $750, which is half the cost of the new engine. He is deceitful, and his vehicles are subpar. He seems only interested in making a quick profit without regard for his customers' well-being. I urge everyone to stay away from this company; do not get scammed! I only drove the vehicle a total of 50 miles when all this happened. I will remove this review once he steps up and fulfills his obligations as promised through the warranty. I have consulted with three lawyers who are willing to take my case. I want to settle this matter directly with the owner, and I am giving him until the end of the day tomorrow, August 22, 2025, to resolve the issue before I initiate a lawsuit against the company. Update: Breach of Contract Claiming emotional distress Multiplier method Lawyer fees Loss of use damages These claims will be in the lawsuit that you will be served with. I tried to work with you but you refused to comply. I will be posting the audio and messages once my lawyer gives me the okay.
